timezone changes

updated the us timezones for ptimes - even islamicfinder hasn’t updated yet granted, i still need to go through and do the updates for other places as well, but that’s later insha’Allah.

ptimes algorithm update

thanks to brother omar abo-namous, jazahAllah khair, the core algorithm for calculating prayer times used by the ptimes project has been updated.Â the results i get are very similar to what is seen on islamicfinder, for example.Â note, however, that currently, all calculations are done according to the ISNA method, so your results will be pretty off if you’re outside the united states.

quran site updates

alsalam 3alaikum wa ra7matullah,
many changes were made to the quran site… some were made before in various places, and so now i’ve gathered many of these changes into one place. the most notable changes are that 1. the site now remembers the translations that you’ve last used so you don’t have to reselect them, and 2. the ajax switching of translations from the previous beta was merged here as well. in addition, many backend changes to the code base were made as well, and perhaps some speedups as well. the beta can be seen here.

prayertimes update

some mass updates to the new prayertime app. first, per the comment by Abu Hafs, the time is now in non-military time. secondly, there are now some initial rss feeds for each location. thirdly, some changes were made to the ui. click here to check it out.

by the grace of Allah, we at IN are happy to annouce that we’ve started our own labs site, just like google and other sites have done.Â Â our labs site insha’Allah will contain some of the latest things the IN developers are working on.Â in addition, we have launched our first labs project… prayertimes.Â please check it out and leave any feedback you have in the comments section.

salam 3alaikum all,
i’ve moved the blog from the old puglu blog to muslimpad. i didn’t bother migrating the old data off of it because there wasn’t much there in the first place. however, this time around, insha’Allah i intend to keep this updated. this blog will insha’Allah document some of the things that some of the islamic network developers are working on. while some of the contents of this blog may be technical in nature, many of the posts will discuss new features and new projects and the like. so stay tuned…
